Why I Love These Chocolate Cups

I love how simple yet satisfying these treats are. The creamy dark chocolate melts perfectly with the burst of fresh blueberries and the crunchy walnuts add a perfect bite. Plus, they’re super easy to make — no baking required!

I am obsessed with these little cups, I was shocked at how simple they were to make and how delicious they were, wow! I loved them so much; I tried them in a mini silicone cupcake container, and I will grab one or two out of the freezer a couples times a day!

Benefits of the Ingredients

Each ingredient in these Dark Chocolate, Blueberry & Walnut Cups offers powerful health benefits:

  • Coconut Oil: Helps create that smooth, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate texture and provides healthy fats that support energy and metabolism.
  • Dark Chocolate: Rich in antioxidants that support heart health, improve blood flow, and may even boost mood and brain function. Opt for 70% cocoa or higher for maximum benefits. I have found dark chocolate chips; I was surprised to find them at many stores. I found this one at Aldi.
  • Chia Seeds: These tiny seeds are packed with fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants, making them a powerful superfood addition to this dessert. One tablespoon contains 5 grams of fiber! I recommend them to all my clients because they are a simple high fiber real food option to increase fiber in the diet.
  • Blueberries: Loaded with antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins, which help reduce inflammation and support brain and heart health.
  • Walnuts: Rich in heart-healthy fats, particularly omega-3s, which support brain health and reduce inflammation.

How to Store Dark Chocolate, Blueberry & Walnut Cup

Personally, I love to store them in the freezer, but you can store them in the fridge. They are shelf stable, but depending upon the heat, they may melt.

Keeping them in an airtight container under cooler temperatures works best.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expand All:
Can I use frozen blueberries instead of fresh?

Yes! Frozen blueberries work well. Just be sure to pat them dry before adding them to prevent excess moisture in the cups.

How long do these chocolate cups last?

Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze them for up to three months for a longer shelf life.

Can I swap walnuts for another nut?

Absolutely! Almonds, pecans, or even sunflower seeds make great alternatives if you prefer a different flavor or need a nut-free option.
