A sweet, cool treat that involves just a few ingredients and a win for the family!  We use frozen dark cherries plus very ripe bananas.  If you do not have very ripe bananas, use a couple tablespoons of any liquid to blend well. This recipe also works great to freeze and eat later.  

It’s creamy and smooth texture mimics ice cream which is always a fan favorite, right?  It is fun for the kiddos to get involved and pulse the food processor as they watch the ingredients magically mold into this beautiful, effortless dessert.  The color is just gorgeous!


Dark sweet cherries are boasting with good-for-you nutrients.  Usually bold colors provide more nutrients and the dark red color of the cherries holds up to this characteristic.  So many nutrients from calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin C, iron, B vitamins and more.  

Health benefits include boosting immune system, healthy digestion, joint health, preventing cell damage and even being a natural relaxant for sleep.  Yep, dark cherries contain the amino acid tryptophan that is a precursor for serotonin and melatonin that regulates sleep and mood. 

Bananas provide natural sweetness for this dish.  Bananas also contain a whopping amount of nutrients from fiber to potassium to magnesium that are extremely helpful in promoting a healthy heart.

KIDS MAKE! Cherry Sorbet

A few ingredients for a refreshing dessert that is sweet and simple!


  • 4 cups frozen dark cherries
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 Tbsp. almond milk (or any liquid) (If bananas are very ripe, skip the liquid)


  • Place cherries in a food processor and pulse until cherries are finely. Add bananas to cherries and pulse until smooth. Add liquid if bananas are not extremely ripe.
    *May freeze and eat after recipe is made
