This simple and fast meal idea is a fun way to get the kiddos involved for dinner time.  We use frozen dinner roll dough for each little pizza pocket. Pair with a side of veggies and fruit and dinner is done!

KIDS MAKE! Pizza Pockets

Fast, fun and dinner is done! Get the kiddos involved with this dinner idea.
Servings: 4

  • 8 Frozen dinner yeast rolls
  • 2/3 cup ground beef, cooked
  • 1/2 cup sauce (spaghetti or pizza)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese, pizza blend
  • 1/2 cup veggies, chopped (mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, onions)

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Thaw dough at room temperature about 4 to 6 hours before you begin to make recipe. Roll out each dough ball. Place 2 teaspoons of sauce and spread evenly over dough. Add cheese, meat and veggies on one side of the dough. Fold dough over to form a pocket. Press dough firmly with fingers or use a fork to seal the dough.
Place pockets on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Allow pockets to cool. Pair with a side of fruit and veggies and dinner is done!

Fill pockets with whatever you like!  Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, broccoli – heck, use up whatever is in the refrigerator.  That is my kind of meal!  Make a bunch of these pockets and heat up for lunch for the kids.  This is one leftover my kids really enjoy (me, too!) because it tastes like pizza and who doesn’t love pizza.  Well, my girls are not huge fans of pizza but they love these simple pizza pockets.   I hope you enjoy!
