Baked Tortilla Bowls–Product Review! A healthy meal at its best, hooray!

I am always in search of products that help make a simple and of course a healthy meal.  Remember that I am not sponsored by anyone nor am I given free products to try so my opinion is purely my opinion!

Anyway, last summer my sister and I saw an infomercial for the Perfect Tortilla Pan Set and we were both hooked!  I had my credit card in my hand ready to order online but we chickened out and thought we could probably find it on an end cap at Target or at Bed Bath and Beyond.  Well, six months later neither of us purchased the product.  However, when I was back at my parents a couple weeks ago my mom had the product, I was so excited!  (My mom is a sucker for products like these, let’s just say the easy egg product we tried was a better toy for my baby.)  Well, my mom was not a fan of the baked tortillas bowls and said they came out very tough BUT she said I could take it home and try it for myself.  Yay!  It’s taco salad night everyone!

So my baby Lucy and I started off our weekly shopping trip and bought some 100% whole wheat tortillas. (Remember to look for whole wheat as the FIRST ingredient!) Isn’t she just adorable, I just had to share this darling picture. Yep, those are the whole wheat tortillas that she fell asleep with in the cart.  My heart just melts looking at this picture and of course some other customers commented as I we passed by them, “Oh look at that sweet baby . . .she’s holding tortillas.” I smiled proudly Smile. And just so you know she didn’t wake up at the register as I tugged them away from her, whew, still asleep!

Okay, do you know what I am talking about now . . . the Perfect Tortilla Pan Set, yeah as you can see, I think $10.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Wow, this was the first time my daughter, Reese, ate an entire salad.  She really liked it so I was even more excited about this meal.  The girl wants to eat crackers and pretzels for every meal, so this is huge! Yay, she ate some meat! (BTW, the kids were doing a painting project before dinner, don’t mind the mess, this is real life people.)

For Mr. Cooper (my 2 1/2 yr old), I just broke up the bowl and spread the salad out.  This little guy loves lettuce, I just can’t get over it!  I guess this love is balanced out with his obsession for cookies and candy, huh.

My husband thought they were pretty good, he just didn’t know how to eat them. Dig in, honey!

As for myself, I was in LOVE with them!  Total winner for me, seriously.  What is not to love, ww tortilla, taco seasoned hamburger, romaine lettuce, shredded Colby jack cheese, pineapple salsa and a dab of sour cream, ahhhh!   The bowls are the perfect size because you cannot go overboard with all these ingredients – everything in moderation, right?  I could have eaten another delicious bowl, yum!  I think my mom’s problem was that she did not bake them long enough and I will give the pans back to her and purchase my own set. I can’t wait to have another taco bowl night! I think the family will be excited again, too!
