Where did this week go? Between kids (plural, yes!) keeping me up in the middle in of the night and wanting to stay in my pj’s all day, let’s just say I did not get everything checked off my to-do list. However, I did have an awesome time playing paper dolls, race cars and snuggling with baby . . .so I say it has been a good week! As the snow started to come down yesterday, I finally got the push to make cheesy breadsticks that I have been dying to make. Really, nothing fancy at all, just some whole wheat dough and mozzarella sticks. I love bread . . . I love cheese!
Start off with thawed whole wheat dough, remember the dough I used from Valentine Mini Pizzas, here’s another super simple option.
I divided those dough balls in half, just so I could have more of them, ha! Also cut each mozzarella stick into for pieces.
Roll out each dough ball and place the mozzarella string cheese. Wrap dough around the cheese and place on a baking sheet.
If you want you may brush each breadstick with some spray butter and garlic.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, aka once you see the cheese oozing out of the bread.
Why do I love homemade bread so much, especially with soft mozzarella cheese? That is why I only made six of these little guys.
Pair the cheesy breadstick with your favorite marinara sauce. Hey, this is also a great meat-free option for dinner too!
I think I may just have to go the frig and get another one . . .
