Lately I have been a bit crazy about smoothies and it is so much fun creating your versions of different flavors. Last night I made a blueberry, banana, grape, black cherry, strawberry smoothie!
The good thing about smoothies – you can use anything you have in your frig!
I like to use about 1/4 to 1/3 cup juice that is full of flavor. Here is a new juice I really like:
1/4 to 1/3 cup Welch’s Black Cherry Concord Grape juice
1/4 cup strawberry Kefir (can use yogurt instead – or just omit)
1/3 cup skim milk
1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Blend all ingredients together and enjoy!
I actually liked my smoothie so much that I made another (it was also apart of my dinner) and I just used the juice, frozen blueberries, banana, milk and ice. Again, don’t be afraid, just make it however you wish!

Sometimes I have been a little more creative and have put a small bunch of fresh spinach leaves! I can still smell the spinach when I drink it so sometimes it is a turnoff but again if you have a flavorful juice it helps keep the flavor.
I have even done sweet potato baby food in a smoothie too and you cannot even taste it! About half a jar or container per smoothie works very well. Pineapple or grape juice work very well with this puree!
Enjoy and be creative! A great way to take in a ton of antioxidants and nutrients if your diet is lacking fruits and vegetables!
