Chocolate – a favorite indulgent for many and even good for you! Of course the darker the chocolate, the more health benefits. Look for the percentage of dark chocolate on the package – 45% is a good start to add some more nutrition and still flavorful.
The recipe below is a great way to include pure cocoa while adding some antioxidants for your next chocolate treat!
Chocolate No-Bake Cookies
All you need:
¾ cups sugar
¾ cups Truvia ™ (A natural sweetener – love it!)
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons light butter
3 cups quick oatmeal
6 heaping T. cocoa
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
All you do:
Put sugar, milk and shortening in a pan and bring to a rolling boil. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. No baking required!
